Casual Youth Support Workers

We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced Youth Support Workers to support our youth work with young people who are autistic without a Learning Disability.
​

Summer and Easter school holidays: Help us provide fun and sociable activities such as gaming, horse-riding, laser tag, axe throwing, and archery! You will support young people aged 8 – 18 who are fun-loving, engaging and autistic without a Learning Disability.
Work is available Monday – Friday at various times and locations across Oxfordshire, including Oxford, Didcot, and Banbury. You will be given advance notice of the work available, asked for your availability, and allocated work according to your availability and our need.

Term-time: Occasional work to provide staff cover at our youth groups in Oxford and Wolvercote. Work is available on occasional Wednesday evenings, Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Professional experience of working with young people in a group setting is essential. It is essential that you can communicate effectively with young autistic young people, possess good social skills, participate in busy and active play and leisure activities, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
​

Saturday Youth Support Worker

Join our fun and social youth group for 8 -12-year-olds who are autistic without a learning disability.

Weekly working hours are Saturdays 9:30AM to 12:30PM during school term-time only (39 weeks per year).
An additional 15 minutes per week is provided for occasional planning.

Professional experience in leading group work with young people aged 16 and over is essential. The successful candidate must be able to nurture and enable autistic young adults, be a good leader and mentor, be organised, and able to model and encourage good social skills, and work independently and responsibly with a sense of fun.

​A rewarding role managing our well-established and much-loved youth group for 18 to 25-year-olds who are autistic without a Learning Disability. The youth group provides a nurturing and empowering space for members to socialise, build confidence, friendships, independence, and be empowered with decision-making and a sense of agency and ownership within the group. Typically, the members attend mainstream college or employment and are seeking to become more independent and connected.
​
You will coordinate the youth group and line manage one Youth Support Worker and a group of volunteers. You will enable young people to engage with peers, build friendships, become more independent, and organise and lead sessions themselves.
​
Weekly working hours are Wednesdays 6PM – 9:30PM, during school term-time only (39 weeks per year). An additional 1.25 hours per week is provided for planning, admin, occasional staff meetings, or training – this additional time may be accrued and used when needed.
​
Professional experience in leading group work with young people aged 16 and over is essential. The successful candidate must be able to nurture and enable autistic young adults, be a good leader adn mentor, be very organised, can model and encourage good social skills, and work independently and responsibly with a sense of fun.
