WINNER of
The Award for Innovative Family Support

The judges of this national award  recognised our ability to deliver a range of services for children, young people, parents and professionals – using our limited resources to work with others including the local authority, health, the voluntary sector and parents. 

The award was presented by NAS President Jane Asher, and Kate Fox, comedian, spoken word artist and Radio 4 Saturday Live regular, at a special awards ceremony held in the Majestic Hotel in Harrogate on 5th March –
Gita Lobo, Project Manager and Becky Loveless, Family Support Worker,  attended the ceremony to accept the award on behalf of our team.

 
We are thrilled to have won this award, which reflects the tremendous work our talented staff do on a daily basis to help improve the lives of local families affected by autism.  We’re really proud of the achievement and hope the award will allow us to better support more families.

Carol Povey, Director of the Centre for Autism at the NAS said: “The accomplishments of all the Autism Professional Awards finalists are extremely impressive. These are organisations and individuals who have made a positive contribution to the autism community. Autism Family Support stood out for the diversity of its services and the impact its work has had on families affected by autism in Oxfordshire. The service is a truly inspiring and deserving winner.  I want to congratulate the service and encourage others to follow its lead and work hard to support the hundreds of thousands of people living with autism across the UK.”

There were six categories in total at the Autism Professionals Awards. The independent judging panel consisted of leading experts in the field of autism from a variety of professional backgrounds across the UK.

Well done to all our staff and volunteers, including parents and Trustees, who continue to work hard to make a difference in Oxfordshire. Oxfordshire now has its very own Award winning service for Autism!  

We know there’s a growing need for more support for children, adults and families living with autism, and hope this accolade will help us in our efforts to meet the demand for services and support.
