Activity Coordinator    

Salary: £7,740 (£23,866 pro rata) 

Hours: 16 hours per week, Term Time only (Oxfordshire school terms, 39 weeks per annum)

Location: Based in our office in Abingdon, plus visiting our youth groups and activity venues across Oxfordshire. Flexibility and own vehicle is required.

We are looking for an exceptionally organised and creative person, with a flair for organising activities that nurture, enable and inspire young people with autism. 

This is an exciting new post and a great opportunity if you are able to build partnerships, have creative ideas and initiative, are organised and a good leader, and experienced in working with children or adults on the autism spectrum. The hours are mostly office hours as well as periodical evenings and Saturdays as arranged between the post holder and staff. The post holder will be responsible for managing their own diary, with weekly hours equating to 16 hours a week, term-time only.

Saturday Youth Support Worker   

Salary: £10 per hour, 3.25 hours per week

Hours: Saturdays 9:30am – 12:30pm Term Time only, plus additional planning time. 

Location: Wolvercote, Oxford.   

Closing Date: Monday 13 July 2020        

We are looking for a playful and energetic Youth Support Worker to join our youth group for 8 – 12 year olds with Asperger Syndrome/High Functioning Autism. The youth group is led by a Youth Group Coordinator, and you will be part of a team to plan and run activities; and support children to participate in and enjoy the sessions.  

Weekly working hours are Saturdays 9:30am – 12:30pm term-time only (39 weeks) as well as 0.25 hours additional time allowed for occasional planning. Experience of working with young people is essential.

Applicants should have experience of supporting young people in a supportive setting; enjoy working in a playful youth group setting; able to encourage social skills, a sense of fun, and be responsible

Youth Group Coordinator (Thursday evenings)  

Salary: £11.88  per hour, 4 hours per week

Hours: Thursdays 5:30PM – 8:30PM, Term Time only, plus additional planning time. 

Location: Abingdon

We are looking for a reliable and organised Youth Group Coordinator to lead our youth group for 11-16 year olds with Asperger’s Syndrome/High Functioning Autism. The post holder will be responsible for running the youth group, planning and organising activities, line manage a Youth Support Worker and volunteers, produce simple quarterly reports, and liaise with parent/carers and family support staff.

Weekly working hours are Thursdays 5:30am – 8:30pm, term-time only (39 weeks per year) plus an additional 1 hour per week for planning, or attending periodic staff meetings or training.

Professional experience of working with young people on the autism spectrum in a group setting is essential.
The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with young people with autism as well as parents and professionals; be organised, be a good leader, use their own initiative; manage a small team, and can plan and evaluate their work.

Youth Support Worker (Thursday evenings)  

Salary: £10 per hour, 3.5 hours per week

Hours: Thursdays 5:30PM – 8:30PM, Term Time only, plus additional planning time

Location: Abingdon.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Youth Support Worker for our youth group for 11-16 year olds with Asperger’s Syndrome/Higher Functioning Autism. The post holder will assist the Youth Group Coordinator to run the youth group; assist with organising onsite and offsite activities; support the young people to participate in activities; and support volunteers.

Weekly working hours are Thursdays 5:30am – 8:30pm, Term-time only (39 weeks) as well as an additional 0.5 hours per week for planning, or attending periodic staff meetings or training.

Professional experience of working with young people on the autism spectrum is essential. It is essential that the person appointed can communicate effectively with young people with autism, can encourage social skills, is able to participate in play and leisure activities; can work effectively using their own initiative and as a team.

Casual Support Workers

Salary: £10 per hour
Hours: Flexible work available during Summer and Easter school holidays, plus occasional evenings and Saturdays during term time.
Various locations in Oxford, Abingdon, and across Oxfordshire

We are looking for enthusiastic Casual Support Workers to assist with our Holiday Activities for 8-17 year olds with Asperger’s Syndrome/high functioning autism.  You will support young people to participate in activities, assist with running activities, and facilitate social skills and friendships.

Activities run during Summer and Easter school holidays. Working hours and locations vary.

Occasional work will also be available at our youth groups during term time on Wednesday evenings, Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings.

Experience of working with young people with autism or additional needs is essential.

If you can support autistic young people, have good social skills, are able to participate in play and leisure activities, and can work effectively using your own initiative and as a team – we would love to hear from you!

Freelance Trainers required

We are looking for freelance trainers to join our team of trainers.

Position:   Freelance Trainer

Location:   Various venues across Oxfordshire available. To include Oxford, Didcot, Banbury, Bicester and Witney.

Pay rate:    £780 per course.

Hours:        Part time, various weekday mornings or evenings, with additional planning time.

Contract:   Self-employed

We are looking for trainers to help us deliver courses for parent/carers who have a child on the autism spectrum. The courses include All Things Autism post diagnosis course, and Challenging Behaviour and Autism, commissioned by Oxford Health Foundation NHS Trust.

There will be approximately 19 courses on offer per annum, including 6 evening courses. All trainers will be provided with a programme of courses and have the choice to agree to deliver specific courses. It is expected that trainers agree to lead one or several courses, and will lead each course in its entirety.

Courses will run on various days, Monday to Friday, term time only. The majority of courses are held in mornings, plus six evening courses. Typically, a course is 6 weeks, consisting of a 2 ½ hour weekly session, plus additional planning and setup time.

We will provide the course content and instructions. Each trainer will shadow our current trainers and become familiar with the course content and format, before delivering a course
