Get involved and support our appeal

From 1 April 2024, funding for our family support work and youth groups will be significantly reduced. This situation has led us to make some tough decisions and changes to our services, to preserve the future of the organisation.

The impact on our Family Support service is devastating. Sadly, our two Family Practitioner roles are being made redundant and we will reduce our family support services.

We will continue to fundraise for family support services, however, in the meantime, we will only provide Online Q&A sessions. Until our funds and staffing grow, we can not provide any one-to-one advice or support to parents/carers or young people.

Full details can be found in this letter to parents/carers

We urgently need your help.

There are many ways you can help – you could donate, fundraise, volunteer at our youth groups or events, volunteer your admin or technical skills, or write to your MP.

Donate

We rely on donations and grants. Please donate whatever you can – your support will help us to continue to make a difference to the lives of autistic children and young people and their families.

Fundraise

There are many ways you can fundraise – it can be a big or small event. Ideas include:

A sponsored event challenge – it could be a walk, run, skip, or another challenge – big or small.

Nominate us as a charity to benefit from an event – for example a school fete, corporate event, or musical/theatre production.

Sell goods – a cake sale, car boot sale, or Spring Clean and donate the proceeds from your sales.

Set up a regular donation via Standing Order – please set this up via your bank or EMAIL US for assistance or a form.

Request donations instead of gifts at an occasion, for example, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries or Christmas.

Leave a legacy in your will. Please EMAIL US for details.

Assist us with a fundraising event – help with administration, publicity, and running the event.

Write to your MP and Councillor

You can write to your local MP and Councillor to let them know that due to funding cuts to Autism Family Support Oxfordshire, there has been a reduction in one-to-one advice and support for families living with autism in Oxfordshire, and families must now pay to keep our youth groups open. You could include why you think our services are valuable and the impact of losing the services. To contact your MP and Councillor go to https://www.writetothem.com/

From befrienders to youth club workers and occasional helpers at events, Autism Family Support Oxfordshire relies on people like you giving their time.
